Graduates of Maryland community colleges may have an opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree at Bowie State University.
Bowie State University has established partnerships with two-year colleges and police academies to make it easier for students to earn an associate’s degree or certificate and then transfer to the university to complete a bachelor’s degree.
Articulation agreements outline the courses at community colleges and police academies that meet requirements for Bowie State University degree programs, providing a smooth transition for students and avoiding unnecessary duplication of coursework.
Guaranteed admission agreements specify how community college students who qualify for admission to Bowie State University and meet the requirements of the agreement will be granted “guaranteed” admission once they earn an associate’s degree.
Reverse transfer agreements allow students who transferred to Bowie State University before earning an associate’s degree to complete credits toward their two-year degree. Students taking credits toward a bachelor’s degree at Bowie State University may also use those courses to satisfy requirements for an associate’s degree. That way, students can earn an associate’s degree while they work toward a bachelor’s degree.
The Dual to Degree Program allows high school students who are dually enrolled at a community college to apply their college credits toward a bachelor’s degree at Bowie State University. The program is designed to create a seamless transfer of students’ community college credits toward a degree at a four-year institution.
Bowie State University continues to develop additional partnerships with Maryland’s community colleges. As new agreements are created, they will be added to the list below. To view the documents below, download the free Adobe Acrobat reader by clicking here.
