Planted between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., our campus is peacefully offset from the bustle of these great cities while still a quick transit ride away. Between classes, you can take mindful breaks at the Patuxent Research Refuge, go shopping nearby at Bowie Town Center, get delicious takeout, or stay in for a movie night.

As a Bulldog, you’ll have a variety of residence hall options to choose from, including traditional rooms and our new suites in the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community.

Homecoming
Come together with peers and alumni to celebrate Homecoming at Bowie State. Stay for the game, watch the crowning ceremony, and cheer on the Bowie State royal court.
Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Basketball Tournament
Each year, we host a packed week full of events leading up to the Men’s and Women’s CIAA Basketball Tournament. Take a break from studying to enjoy family-fun competitions, mingle with alumni, and show some love to the Bulldogs.
