Bulldogs Coming Home

August 18, 2021

Will you be Joining Them?

New Bulldogs begin arriving on campus this weekend for freshman housing move-in, signaling the start of final preparations for the Fall 2021 semester. Are you ready to join them in the return to campus?

If you have not yet completed the COVID-19 vaccination, you are running out of time to meet the requirements to participate in any on-campus activities. Unvaccinated students, faculty or staff will not be permitted to enter campus or participate in any campus activity, including moving into residence halls and attending in-person classes.

For those who have not begun the vaccination process, the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine offers the only option to students who wish to start in-person classes on time during the week of Aug. 30. Full vaccination requires a two-week waiting period after the last shot to build full immunity to the virus.

BSU is making every effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 within the campus community by restricting the number of unvaccinated individuals to only those with medical or religious exemptions. The deadline to apply for an exemption was Aug. 1.

Vaccination is available on campus Monday and Wednesday, 9 am to 12 pm. Appointments can be made in the Wellness Patient Portal. The vaccine is also readily available at pharmacies and medical facilities.

COVID-19 Testing Location Changes

During the period of Aug. 21-29, COVID-19 testing will move to the McKeldin Gymnasium. On Aug. 30, the testing site will relocate to Thurgood Marshall Library, room 1200.

Persons with exemptions must continue to test twice per week. Vaccinated individuals must test once every 30 days.
