BSU Faculty and Students Getting Ready to Return
August 4, 2021
If you are a Bowie State University faculty member or student, you should be in the final stages of preparing for your return to campus for in-person teaching and learning. The final dose of the vaccine must be completed at least two weeks in advance of your planned return date to meet the requirement of full vaccination. Only fully vaccinated individuals, or those with an approved exemption, will be permitted on campus for the fall semester. Use the following schedule to assure that you are able to gain access to campus on schedule:
Fall 2021 Return Schedule
August 20 - 23

August 25 - 26

We’re looking forward to your return!
Return Checklist
Take these steps to make sure your first days back run smoothly:
- Faculty should visit their office before August 20 to assess the condition and need for any facility or DIT resources. Use this Return to Campus Office Checklist as a guide.
- Faculty and students should report their record of completed vaccination to the Henry Wise Wellness Center by uploading a photo of their vaccination card to the Wellness Patient Portal. Maryland residents who have misplaced your card or need help uploading, can grant permission for the Wellness Center to access your record from the Maryland Health Department. Just complete the ImmuNet Consent Form in the Wellness Portal under the Clearance tab.
- If you have uploaded your vaccination information and experience delays in the updating of your status, please email the Wellness Center at hwwc@bowiestate.edu.
Vaccination is available on campus every Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Make appointments in the Wellness Patient Portal. You may also visit covidvax.maryland.gov for other vaccination sites in Maryland.
If you have questions about the return-to-campus transition, please email covid19@bowiestate.edu and monitor the COVID-19 Updates web section for the latest information.
