Mass Vaccination University Days Set at Sites Across Maryland

April 24, 2021

This message is sent today to provide Bowie State University faculty, staff and students with new information about the availability of COVID-19 vaccine appointments for members of Maryland university communities.

The Maryland Higher Education Commission has worked with the Maryland Department of Health to identify “University Days” at various mass vaccination sites throughout Maryland. This means that campus community members including students, faculty, and staff can directly access vaccination appointments. Please follow steps below to schedule an appointment:

  1. Visit: massvax.maryland.gov
  2. Enter the applicable passcode below (when prompted to enter a zip code)
  3. Select the appropriate site
  4. Choose an appointment date/time and register for appointment

The passcodes are unique to this “University Days” opportunity and only campus community members may use it to select an appointment. Students, faculty, and staff will be expected to show their campus ID at their scheduled appointment time. Incoming new students may also take advantage of this opportunity. In lieu of a student ID, they can provide either an acceptance letter or a copy of their fall registration. Students under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive their COVID-19 vaccine.

We continue to encourage all Marylanders to pre-register for a COVID-19 vaccine appointment at a state run mass vaccination site at covidvax.maryland.gov or by calling the COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MDGOVAX.

Additionally, the City of Bowie has established a vaccine clinic at the Bowie Senior Center for anyone age 16 and up who lives, works, or attends school in Prince George’s County. The clinic operates three days a week on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.

As we look forward to a full return to an engaging campus environment this fall, we will continue to communicate vaccination opportunities to the entire university community as opportunities become available.
