Enhanced Testing On Track, Closing the Digital Divide, COVID-19 Resources

February 10, 2021

Implementation of twice-weekly COVID-19 testing and the requirement of a green badge for entry to key university buildings is operating smoothly in the first two weeks of the spring 2021 semester. The university continues to maintain a positivity rate below 2% effectively identifying and isolating any positive cases as early as possible.

The COVID-19 Coordinating Team commends the campus community for your diligence in complying with the new testing regimen, which provides greater protection for everyone on campus. The green badge signifies that the individual has completed the daily symptom screening survey and been tested for COVID-19 within the past three days with a negative result. The continued success of this effort to know the status of persons on campus will provide the foundation in the coming weeks for greater flexibility of movement between buildings and the expansion of access to some spaces that have been closed.

COVID-19 testing is available 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday on campus in the Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Nursing. Appointments should be scheduled in advance through the Wellness Patient Portal.

Closing the Digital Divide

Every effort is being made to assure that all BSU students have the technology resources they need to be successful in the current remote and hybrid learning environments. Free loaner laptops and accessories, including hotspots for internet access, are available upon request. More than 300 laptops have been issued to students so far. Any student in need of these resources should visit the Bulldog Loaner Laptop webpage for detailed information and email a request to bulldoglaptop@bowiestate.edu.

Requesting COVID-19 Resources

The university has supplies of personal protective equipment available for faculty and staff. Items include hand sanitizer, masks and face shields, alcohol wipes and COVID-19 signage. Please complete the COVID-19 Resource Request Form to select items needed. You should also use the form to identify any other non-standard needs for your office or unit specifically related to COVID-19 response.

We ask all members of the campus community to continue to monitor emails and the COVID-19 Updates web section for the latest information. Any questions or concerns should be emailed to covid19@bowiestate.edu.
