Emergency Relief Funds Available to Students

Bowie State University has been awarded $3.2 million in emergency financial aid grants to award to students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act recently approved by Congress. All BSU students enrolled in Spring 2020 who are eligible to receive financial aid will be awarded a direct grant in the next two weeks. These funds will not be used to offset any outstanding balances on your account.

Students may use the emergency financial aid grants for expenses incurred  as a result of the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus including food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare.

Please monitor your BSU email account beginning Wednesday, May 6 for a link to begin the process described below, to receive your award.

·       A link to the COVID-19 Certification Form will be sent via email to students enrolled for the Spring 2020 semester. Your answers to questions in the form will determine if you are eligible to receive the grant.

·       Student Accounts processes certification requests and refunds

·       Students should begin receiving electronic refunds within five days of processing via the preferred electronic deposit method selected through Bank Mobile
