Reminder: Changes in Campus Protocols

As transitions in campus access protocols are implemented this week, security personnel will continue to staff campus entrances through Friday, May 27 but will not check badges. While mandatory checks of the wellness badge will end, it is everyone’s responsibility to assure that your badge is green before coming to campus.

To assure that the campus continues to maintain a low instance of COVID-19 cases, each member of the community must take responsibility to do our part. Everyone is encouraged to take the following actions:

  • Complete the symptom screening survey in the Wellness Portal daily to monitor your personal health and so that any patterns of change in the health of the campus can be identified.
  • Report any positive test results, including from self-tests, through the Wellness Portal and isolate for five days. Upload a photo of the positive test result and a slip of paper with your name, phone number and date of the test to enable contact tracing to protect the community and monitor case patterns.
  • Get tested every time you have symptoms or exposure to someone who tests positive.
  • Continue twice-weekly mandatory testing for residential students with exemptions.
  • Continue to wear masks indoors at your discretion, especially if you are in a high-risk group.
  • Keep your hands clean and use the sanitizer stations placed throughout the campus.

As we move forward in the coming weeks and months, we will continue to monitor the course of COVID-19 on the campus and in the surrounding community and adjust these protocols as needed. Our goal continues to be protecting the health and safety of every member of the BSU community as we continue to stay focused on our education mission.
