- HBCU-Data Science Consortium
Co-chair - To build on National as well as The South Big Data Hub initiatives to define data science. To develop a continual network of data science, data analytics and/or business analytics researchers at HBCUs for sharing of best practices and making future collaborations. To develop a repository of resources (data sources, curricula, and associated degree proposals), scholarly articles, etc.), to be shared among the HBCU community for use in future research and teaching collaborations.
- Maryland Center of Computing Education
Steering Committee - goals and metrics for computing education in Maryland in 2017. They were then further updated and approved by the steering committee in 2018. These goals are also reflected in the Securing the Future: Computer Science Education for All Act. The ultimate goal is to have CS recognized as a content discipline in K-12 Maryland Public School classrooms with significant reduction in gaps among student subgroups who have access to and participate in CS classes.
- Project Lead the Way Engineering – Prince George’s County Public School Program Advisory Committee
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering introduces students to the scope, rigor, and discipline of engineering technology. Students engage in problem solving, learn and apply the engineering process, and develop vital teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills.
