Faculty Advising Toolkit
Advising New Transfer Students
The Academic Advising Center will not host virtual Transfer Advising sessions. Each department is responsible for contacting and advising students on their advisee list. We recommend designating an individual to check for new students and reach out to provide advising assistance. Academic Advising will send out general alerts as students are added. In most cases the professional departmental advisor will be responsible for reviewing the list and advising students.
New Transfer Information Sessions
The Academic Advising Center will host two virtual New Transfer Information Sessions to provide an opportunity for the Advising Center and Academic Departments to share information about their area. Please note, these sessions are for information only and not intended for advising. Attendance is optional but strongly encouraged.
Information Sessions

English and Math Placement
New transfer students will not take an English placement exam. If needed, all new transfer students may enroll in ENGL 101.
A Math placement test is required of all new transfer students entering without having completed a transferrable college-level math course. The Office of Admissions or Testing Services will notify students of placement testing procedures.
