New Freshman & Transfer Students

New Student Information Fall 2024 Edition

Thank you for choosing Bowie State University to pursue your baccalaureate degree, and welcome to Bulldog Nation!

Freshmen Students

New first-time freshmen will be registered for classes by the Division of Enrollment Management. After your course registration is complete, the Academic Advising Center will email you an invitation and link to register for our MANDATORY in-person Freshman Advising & Onboarding sessions. During the session, your Academic Advisor will discuss your program of study, review course schedules, share academic expectations, and answer any questions you may have. 

Freshman Advising and Onboarding sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
  • Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
  • Tuesday, July 30, 2024, 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.

Transfer Students

New transfer students must clear Admissions, pay the Enrollment Deposit, and complete a Commit Form before advising and class registration. 

The Office of Admissions will evaluate all transcripts and post the transfer credits into your Bulldog Connection portal. Please monitor your Bulldog Connection portal to know when credits are posted. If you have questions about your transcript or when transfer credits will be posted, contact the Office of Admission at ugradadmissions@bowiestate.edu.

Transfer Advising and Registration 

After completing all Admissions and Enrollment Management requirements, the Academic Advising Center will email an invitation and link to register for our MANDATORY in-person Transfer Advising & Registration session. You will have an opportunity to meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss your program of study, select courses, and receive registration assistance.

Transfer Advising and Registration sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Thursday, June 13, 2024, 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
  • Thursday, June 20, 2024, 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
  • Thursday, July 11, 2024, 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
