Become a HIT Instructor
“HITS” are high impact teaching strategies are individual instructors can implement in their classrooms to reliably increase student learning. (Not to be confused with high impact practices, which are usually implemented at the programmatic level.) This workshop series will introduce instructors to the teaching and organizational strategies necessary to structure their classes in ways that support student engagement and success.
Strategy 1: Setting Goals

This workshop will focus on developing a course around learning objectives that integrate real world application of course concepts
Strategy 2: Have a Plan
Friday, October 8, 10 am-12 pm
This workshop will focus on scaffolding and considering the types of formative and summative assessments that will support the learning objectives.
Strategy 3 and 4: Practice Makes Perfect
Friday, November 12, 10 am-12 pm
This workshop will focus on how to engage students, prepare them for course expectations, and provide relatable examples that align to the learning objectives.
