July 2, 2026 Transition to Virtual Operations, Campus Partially Closed

Bowie State University will be transitioning to virtual operations for all classes and office operations on Thursday, July 2, 2026, due to the extreme heat condition taxing campus systems. Majority of the campus will be closed, and all campus activities are canceled except for the Nike Tennis Camp and 2026 Summer SURI Forum and Workshops. All buildings except the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, Student Center and residence halls will be closed. Essential personnel should report on time. Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards

The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards supports the University’s dedication to student success and its educational purposes and goals by publishing, enforcing, drafting, and interpreting standards of student behavior and related policies and procedures, facilitating student and community developmental and ethical growth opportunities that promote personal integrity, civility, self-responsibility, citizenship, and appreciation for diversity, working to maintain a safe and productive environment supporting the University’s educational purpose and the students’ educational goals, and promoting the privileges and responsibilities associated with a student’s University affiliation.

Mission

To guide BSU students in creating a safe, inclusive, holistic, developmental and academic centered space that exude behaviors that are in alignment with Bowie State University's Codes of Community Standards and Conduct.

Vision

The OSCCS, in the same manner as SA, is to use student behavioral theory, research, national standards and best practices, to strengthen some of our current standards, while re-evaluating and re-structuring areas for tailored growth.
