The Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Drugs Prevention Center facilitates prevention education to Bowie State University students and the surrounding community.

Here's how we do it:

  • Engage and empower peer educators to provide HIV, substance abuse, and problem gambling prevention programming.
  • Train peer educators to successfully create and implement campus-wide prevention activities.
  • Convene monthly student advisory committee meetings to plan and coordinate prevention programming.

Programs

Funding

ATOD is funded by the Prince George’s County Health Department, the Maryland Department of Health Behavioral Health Administration, the Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant, the Maryland Center of Excellence on Problem Gambling, and the State of Maryland.
