Bowie State University’s Staff Council is proud to launch a new employee recognition initiative designed to celebrate staff who are making meaningful contributions within their departments while helping to advance the university’s strategic plan, core values and mission.

Executive Administrative Assistant II, Division of Administration & FinanceMarsha Swindell
Marsha Swindell, a dedicated professional who has served Bowie State University in several roles, including Executive Administrative Assistant in the Division of Administration and Finance.
Working diligently behind the scenes, Marsha is a trusted contributor whose professionalism and commitment help keep operations running smoothly. Her passion for mentoring and genuine care for the campus community reflect her continued dedication to excellence across BSU
Network Infrastructure Administrator, Dept. of Information TechnologySolomon Moltotal
Solomon Moltotal, a dedicated professional who has supported Bowie State University for the past nine years through IT and infrastructure. Through his work, he plays a critical role in maintaining network performance, enhancing wireless services, and ensuring systems remain secure and reliable. Collaborating with teams across campus, he helps develop solutions that support both staff and students behind the scenes.
Driven by a passion for service, Solomon is committed to creating a safe and dependable environment where the BSU community can thrive. His work reflects a strong dedication to supporting others and contributing to the university’s overall success.
Assistant Director, Conference & Event ServicesAnnette Wedderburn
Annette Wedderburn, a dedicated member of Staff Council with eight years of service. Throughout her time, she has held several leadership roles, including four years as Secretary for the Board, and currently serves as Events Chair, University Council Representative, and Chair of the Traffic and Parking Committee.
Annette is driven by a passion for building a strong, connected community. Through her leadership and advocacy, she continues to create meaningful experiences, uplift staff voices, and contribute to an environment where all members of the BSU community feel supported and valued.
Philanthropy Officer, Division of Philanthropic EngagementSteve Stephens II
Steve Stephens II, a dedicated member of Staff Council who has been actively involved for the past two years. He serves as a representative for the Division of Philanthropic Engagement, Parliamentarian on the Executive Board, and Chair of the Community Service Committee.
Driven by a passion for service and leadership, Steve is committed to giving back to the BSU community. His dedication and involvement continue to make a meaningful impact, reflecting a strong commitment to uplifting others and leading with purpose.

Communications & Outreach Specialist for the Office of the PresidentCandance Greene
Candance Greene offers outstanding support and unwavering commitment to the strategic goals of Bowie State University. Candace’s professionalism, creativity, and dedication shine through in all that she does — from ensuring the President’s initiatives are communicated with excellence to fostering meaningful engagement across the campus community. Her exceptional work ethic and collaborative spirit exemplify the best of Bulldog Pride.
Sustainability & Energy Coordinator/Insurance Manager and Vice Chair, Staff CouncilJabari S. Walker
Jabari’s contributions include the development of the BSU Climate Action Plan, establishment of the university’s first fruit tree orchard, and creation of the BSU Climate Career Fair/Central Maryland HBCU Climate Career Expo. His vision and commitment continue to make a lasting impact on BSU’s campus and community.

Strategic Coordinator for Enrollment Management and Assistant Cheerleading CoachErica Johnson
Erica was nominated for her forward-thinking leadership, passion, and dedication to the BSU community. Affectionately known as "EJ," she supports the implementation, management, and optimization of centralized strategic enrollment management operations and technology systems. Her commitment, positivity and tireless efforts — whether planning engaging events or mentoring young women — make her an invaluable member of the Bowie State University family.
