Department of Communications
Program Requirements
The organizational communications program is a 12-course degree program, totaling 36 credit hours. There are two options – thesis and non-thesis:
- Thesis option: If you love to write, research and communicate your ideas to a larger audience, consider the thesis option.
- Non-thesis option: If investigating and analyzing is a better fit, choose non-thesis research option. You’ll analyze a topic, create your own methodology and take a comprehensive exam.
You'll be required to complete five core courses in each of those tracks for a total of 15 credit hours.
The following 21 credits are up to you. Develop your expertise in a specific area of organizational communications by choosing various elective courses (15 credit hours) from the program. Round out your education with two courses (six credit hours) from other graduate-level offerings outside of the program.
