Student Learning Outcomes
Students will:
- Demonstrate the ability to incorporate creative critical thinking and problem-solving skills in order to engage in professionalcommunication via written or oral formats.
- Demonstrate an understanding and application of normative child development including stage models and sociological factors effectingchild development.
- Develop an appreciation, respect, and knowledge base of variations in development based on cultural, biological, environmental, orpsychological factors.
- Demonstrate an understanding of atypical or abnormal child development including behavioral problems, therapeutic treatment, andlearning disorders.
- Develop a working knowledge base of current technology used in presenting work (ie., PowerPoint, computer literacy skills, and utilizingthe internet as a resource).
- Develop a knowledge base on the ethical practices and child welfare policies (including a knowledge of the administrative functions ofproviding child services).
- Analyze and utilize traditional and emerging methods of social research.
