The Department of Health Sciences at Bowie State University offers degree and certificate programs that prepare you for leadership roles in healthcare administration and public health technology. We help you build a comprehensive education by providing a strong foundation in innovative technology, as well as the behavioral and social sciences.

  • The Public Health Informatics & Technology program combines health sciences, information technology, computer science and data science to prepare you for careers in managing electronic health records, data analytics and improving healthcare quality. Visit the PHIT program page.
  • The Health Services Administration program helps you develop the skills to manage healthcare systems in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and managed care organizations. You will also be prepared to take advantage of managerial and administrative opportunities with international agencies, such as the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization, which allow you to analyze, plan and implement global and regional health policies.
