Welcome to the 2021 NCCDC Hiring Event

How: This is a come and go Zoom event
Prizes: Competitors that participate in all sponsor Zoom sessions will be entered in a drawing for prizes such as Beats Studio3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones, Razer BlackWidow Gaming Keyboard, and a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (WiFi, 64GB)

About the Event

Welcome to the 2021 NCCDC Virtual Hiring Event. To participate in this year’s virtual event, we ask you to join each sponsor’s Zoom meeting and 1) introduce yourself in that sponsor’s main room 2) engage sponsors via chat by asking a question about what opportunities are available in the organization, open positions, or other pertinent hiring questions related to skill sets or salaries. You may actively engage more than the required, but this minimum ask will ensure you are entered in a drawing for premium prizes. As a competitor, this is your opportunity to learn about industry jobs and careers and help ensure the future of NCCDC. Our sponsors like having their names on our banners, but they participate so they may get a chance to speak to YOU. Even if you already have something lined up, please consider participating.

This year we will be hosting a Virtual Hiring Event for all CCDC competitors. You will find information on the event attached, but I will also include the full links below for quick registration.

Early Bird Registration and Prize Drawings

The Early Bird Deadline for registration is Monday, April 19, 2021 and there will be a drawing for prizes such as Beats3 Headphones, a Razer gaming keyboard, and a Samsung Galaxy tablet. To be entered in the drawing you must:

Register for all sponsor Zoom rooms by Monday, April 19^th
Attend all sponsor Zoom rooms on Thursday, April 22^nd during the 2 hour time frame
Ask at least ONE pertinent question about the sponsor and their opportunities or their organization

The drawing will be held immediately following the hiring event and winners will be contacted by email – prizes shipped directly to the winners. Please email me with questions or concerns, or to be removed from this email list. Remember, you must register with your FULL NAME (to be compared with student rosters), introduce yourself in chat, and ask a question in CHAT to be considered for the drawing.

Zoom Sponsor Room Log-in Instructions

The 2021 sponsors have a unique Zoom link for registration (see below). Once you have registered with a specific sponsor, you will receive the meeting information for that sponsor. You are free to come and go between the different sponsor meetings over the 2-hour time frame. You must register with each sponsor using the links below to receive the meeting information for that sponsor.

Register using the links on page 1 – you MUST USE your FULL FIRST AND LAST NAME and a valid email address to be considered for the drawing (name should match the team roster).
Once you register for each sponsor meeting, you will receive an email with the meeting information for that specific sponsor’s meeting on April 22nd. You will receive an email for each sponsor you have registered with.
You must introduce yourself and ask ONE question in the general chat session in the sponsor’s main room to be considered for the drawing – the question should be related to opportunities within the organization, skill sets their jobs typically require, or inquiries about compensation.
You may also actively engage representatives in a side breakout room to discuss openings or to privately chat with the sponsor about other specific details.
To join a breakout room, you simply raise your hand through the Zoom app and request to be joined with a representative – the main HOST in each room will pair you in a breakout room with the sponsor.
You may rejoin the main room after leaving a breakout room or choose to leave the meeting entirely.
You may use Zoom video, but it is not required. Some sponsors will not be sharing video, but all sponsors will be available on audio and chat.
You will be muted upon joining any sponsor Zoom meeting, but you may unmute if you wish to ask questions (remember, you must use the general chat in the main room with an introduction and question to be considered for the drawing).
All recording and screen sharing is turned off for these meetings, but you may choose to save the chat.
To exit, simply close out or “leave the meeting.”

NCCDC staff will be monitoring each conference and will be available for Zoom support and sponsor questions. This is not the opportunity to ask competition questions. You may contact Dwayne Williams and staff via email for NCCDC competition questions.
