Due to inclement weather, Bowie State University will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. All classes, office operations and on-campus activities are canceled. Residence halls will remain open. Program Requirements

To earn a Bachelor of Science degree in software engineering, students must complete a total of 120 credit hours, including 52 credit hours in software engineering courses, and 9 credit hours in software engineering electives, 35 credit hours in mathematics and natural laboratory sciences, and 24 credits hours in general education requirements.
