Professor John Sesay graduated with a Master of Science Degree in neuropharmacology of opiates and memory in both rodents and non-human primates from Wake Forest School of Medicine. His research was on tracking the changes in hippocampal population nonlinear dynamics in rats learning a memory-dependent task. He furthered my education at St. George's University School of Medicine and gained a comprehensive understanding of basic and clinical sciences.
Since joining the faculty of Natural Sciences at Bowie State University, his research and teaching have been dedicated to enhancing students' experiments with scientific processes, nurturing their skills, and inspiring them to excel in biomedical and biotechnology fields and pursue higher education.Teaching and laboratory research are his passions. At Bowie State University, Professor Sesay teaches various biological Science courses, including anatomy and physiology, and serves as a lead tutor.

Hermann Fokou Chendjou is a graduate student in the Computer Science Program. Securing a highly coveted Graduate Assistant position at BSU, he jointly serves the Department of Natural Sciences as a Lead Tutor in Physics and the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center. He also serves as a Program Assistant for the Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CURE) program.
Having moved to Maryland from Michigan, he was not quite sure of what to expect from such a transition, but he is now extremely grateful to have landed on Bowie soil for an extraordinary journey. Prior to joining Bowie, he was in the workforce where he worked as a product manager for a company called Hubject.
Hermann is a husband and a proud father of two. He thanks God every day for giving him and his family the opportunity to have Bowie State University as part of their story. When he is not spending time with his family or on campus, you can spot Hermann on the soccer field, watching TV, and/or adding more value to himself by reading or learning a skill on Udemy or Coursera. Hermann also speaks French, so you can brush up on your French while practicing Physics problems.
