Application Information

To get started, review the information on our general application process, which includes our academic requirements and deadlines below.

1. Complete the online application and pay the nonrefundable $40 application fee — $50 for doctoral programs.
2. Send an official transcript from each college or university you’ve attended. Transcripts may be submitted electronically at admissionrecruit@bowiestate.edu  or mailed to the Office of Graduate Admissions, Bowie State University, 14000 Jericho Park Road, Bowie, MD 20715.
3. Send any supplementary materials for your program — GMAT score, essay, letters of recommendation, etc.

Graduate Application Requirements

Each graduate program has a specific set of requirements, so check the  general guidelines for your program of interest. View the graduate application checklist by clicking the “List of Full Requirements” link.

• Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited institution
• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (4.0 scale)
• Transfer up to 12 credits for the Master of Education, Master of Counseling Psychology and Master of Human Resource Development programs.

Deadlines

Please submit your application and all required documents by the appropriate deadline.*

• Master’s Degree and Certificate Programs: July 1 — Fall Semester Entrance and Summer Session
• Master’s Degree and Certificate Programs: Nov. 1 — Spring Semester Entrance
• Doctoral Programs: July 1 — Fall Semester Entrance and Summer Session
• Doctoral Programs: Nov. 1 — Spring Semester Entrance

*International applicants must follow the International Admissions requirements.
