Vendors, apply today to sell at the Homecoming Game!

Thank you for your interest in being a vendor for the 2024 Bowie State University Homecoming! Bowie State University is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our guests, students, faculty, and staff. Standard protocols for infectious illness will be followed but is subject to change based on CDC guidelines.  Please keep in mind that if the circumstances should force us to make changes to the process and/or cancel vending, you will be immediately notified. If you or your staff are experiencing any type of sickness, we ask that you do not come to campus.

How to Apply

Please complete the vendor application form (docx) and return it with your payment and insurance certificate no later than Friday, October 11, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. (no exceptions). 

All vendors will be required to have an insurance certificate - see homecoming vendor insurance certificate sample (pdf)

Vendor Locations

There will be two locations which are Holmes Quad for $200.00 (outside) & Student Center $250.00 (inside).  

Reviewing Your Application Status

After receiving your payment and completed registration form, you will receive a phone call to the number listed on your registration form to inform you of your status.  Your receipt for payment will be included in your onsite registration packet on Homecoming day.  Everyone must check-in directly at the Student Center 1st floor lobby before you set up your assigned vending space. 

NOTE: We are anticipating a variety of vendors, so there may be vendors who will be selling the same items as yours.  

  • All vendors must provide your own tables and chairs.  You are allowed to provide your own tent (approval needed for any tent larger than a 10 X 10 pop up)
  • Due to space restrictions, all vendors are limited to four tables/outside area & two tables inside area per permit. 
  • You must remain in your requested/assigned space.
  • No one is allowed to solicit around campus.
  • Permits are non-transferable. Once you are set-up, you must visibly display your permit. To be in compliance, the permit must remain in place at all times to prevent from being requested to leave the campus.
  • Upon arrival, all vendors must check-in between 8:30 am. – 9:00 a.m. (1st floor lobby of the Student Center).
  • All vendors must have their items unloaded by 11:00 a.m., please remember to bring your equipment (cart, dolly, etc.) to set up and remove your items.
  • Vending hours are from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
  • No vehicles are allowed on campus greens or sidewalks.  Outside vendors can park in Lot “Q” and the grass area behind Alex Haley Residence Hall. (See campus map). Inside vendors can park in Lots “N” & “O”. However, you are not limited to park in either lots.
  • You must properly dispose of all boxes and bulk trash in the dumpsters or take it with you.
  • No vendors are allowed to use Bowie State University licensed materials (University Mascot or bulldog), logos, seal, etc.) on any merchandise being displayed, sold or distributed without approval.  Please contact Ms. Jatina Cooke-Gunn (301-860-3793) in the Auxiliary Services Department for licensing information and approval Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. no later than Friday, October 4, 2024.  You will have to complete a licensing registration form, show all products requesting approval and pay the application fee of $250.00 (cost does not include vendor space fee and you must also complete a vendor registration form).
  • Vending space assignments are based on needs and/or space location; however, Bowie State University reserves the right to re-assign space.
  • No vendor is allowed to distribute or sell items that are offered by the University Bookstore. Depending on your items, you may need to receive permission from our Bookstore Manager. You will have to provide pictures and/or show samples in person.
  • Payment Options:  Cash, Check, Money Order or Visa/Master card.

Campus Entry

It is important that you have everything that is needed for your space. If you have to leave and return to campus, it might be a major delay getting back on campus and finding a parking space.  You are responsible for your items and must have staff present at all times.

If the University decides to require a pass to enter campus, you will be notified via phone on how to retrieve the pass once your registration is completed.

Prohibitions

Vendors/items that are prohibited due to University contracts or rules:

  • Including, but not limited to food/drink products/services (except pre-approved vendors), alcoholic products, tobacco/vaping products, credit card products/services, black market items (tapes, clothes, music, etc.), combustible items, firearms/weapons or any unapproved Bowie State University material and/or logos.

Face Masks

Currently face mask can be worn at your discretion, we ask that everyone respect the decision of others.  

Keeping Sanitized

  • It is recommended that you bring items to sanitize your area throughout the day.
  • If possible, prepare to do credit card tranactions instead of cash.
  • If you have a tent, limit the amount of people at one time.
  • Continue to wipe down your sample items.

Cancellation

Vendor’s fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
