Policies & Procedures
All conferences and events held at Bowie State University must adhere to university policies and procedures to ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of all attendees.
Below are key policies that BSU employees, students, event organizers, vendors, and other campus visitors are required to follow:
- Guidelines on the Use of University Facilities (VI-410): All facility use must be scheduled, approved, and managed according to university protocols to ensure proper coordination and resource allocation.
- Policy Prohibiting Firearms (VI-114): Firearms and other dangerous weapons are strictly prohibited on university property, regardless of permit status.
- Policy on Threats, Campus Disturbances & Firearms (VI-115): This policy outlines the university’s zero-tolerance approach to threats, disruptive behavior, and the unauthorized possession of firearms on campus.
- Policy on Minors on Campus (VI-300): Events involving minors must comply with safety, supervision, and reporting standards as outlined in this policy.
- Policy on Vendors on Campus (VI-206): Vendors participating in university events must follow established guidelines for approval, operation, and conduct.
- Policy on Smoking (VI-850): Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas and designated outdoor areas across campus to support a healthy environment.
