Glenn Mahone is the president and chief executive officer of Vision Consulting, Incorporated, which specializes in crisis management, marketing, communication and business development. As the former vice president of communications for Aerojet Rocketdyne, Mr. Mahone led the division, requiring management of all matters relating to communications’ functions and community outreach.
Prior to his position at Aerojet Rocketdyne, Mr. Mahone served as vice president of administrative services for Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. In this position, he provided executive management and political leadership in the acquisition and management of government contracts and systems applications.
Mr. Mahone was appointed by the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations as NASA’s assistant administrator for public affairs and press secretary in January 2002, where he was the official spokesman for the agency and its senior leadership. While at NASA, Mr. Mahone received a distinguished service medal and two exceptional service awards for outstanding leadership and performance.
Mr. Mahone is very active in the community. He is a member of Epsilon Phi Boule and presides as a National Trustee for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He also serves on the board of the Coalition for Space Exploration and was its chairman for two years. In addition, he has served as chairman of the Bowie State University Foundation Board; a board member of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and Prince George’s Black Chamber of Commerce; and he is co-chair of the Communications Council of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) Washington Public Relations Representative’s Committee.
Mr. Mahone serves as vice president of the Luke Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of youth within the entrepreneurial community and co-chaired the UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball for two consecutive years. Mr. Mahone is a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and is a founding member of Brothers for a Cause, a non-profit corporation organized solely for the charitable purposes of providing support and resources to improve the life and work skills of the economically disadvantaged.
