College of Education Interviews: COVID-19 Response

The College of Education interviews have been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2020.  

Any student with a 3.0 GPA and has proof of having taken all three Praxis Core exams or has less than a 3.0 but has passed all three of the Praxis Core exams is eligible to be interviewed.

If a student still needs to take one or more courses, he or she needs to schedule to take them during summer. If the additional courses cannot be taken over the summer, it is suggested that a student wait to be interviewed until the following semester. Students who are using the 3.0 rule to gain entry into the College of Education should wait until all courses are completed or in progress to interview (this does not include methods courses).

Interview packets must be submitted electronically to Professor Sarah Green (sgreen@bowiestate.edu) and/or Professor Denise Swann (dswann@bowiestate.edu).

Virtual Interviews

Interviews will be conducted using the online platform Zoom.  Student candidates should submit one completed packet with approval from their advisor and faculty recommendations.  If a student still needs to take one or more courses, they will need to schedule them during the summer.  If the additional courses cannot be taken over the summer, it is suggested that the student wait to be interviewed in the following sementer.  Students who are using the 3.0 rule to gain entry into the College of Education should wait until all courses are completed or, are in progress, to interview.  This does not include methods courses. 

We understand testing has been postponed due to the pandemic and will hinder some students from participating in the interview process.  It is recommended that students begin planning and scheduling for the Praxis Core sooner than later.  Students cannot interview without the Praxic Core results.  To schedule your test, contact ets.org.  To practice for the Praxis, go to KhanAcademy.org and ets.org.  Mr. Darryl Stewart, Praxis Lab Coordinator, dlstewart@bowiestate.edu is available to assist with more information.

Candidates will be accepted into the College of Education once G.P.A. and/or Praxis Scores have been verified.
