Advisement

All currently enrolled Pre-Nursing and Nursing students must meet with their assigned faculty/staff Academic Advisor before the close of the spring 2023 semester.
Current BSU Nursing Majors (Admitted)
All admitted nursing majors are advised by a nursing faculty advisor. Each semester, the assignment of faculty advisors, by student, is posted in the department Blackboard Undergraduate Community forum. All nursing majors must email their faculty advisor to schedule appointments. Nursing majors must meet with their assigned faculty advisor each semester to register for courses.
Current Pre-Nursing Students (Non-Admitted)
All freshman Pre-Nursing students (30 credits and under) must email the following Nursing Advisor to schedule their advisement appointment:

New University Freshman & Transfer Pre-Nursing Students
Freshman Students
All new BSU freshman pre-nursing students admitted to the university for the fall or spring semesters receive academic advisement through the Department of Nursing freshman academic advisor. Students must first participate in the BSU New Student Orientation program to enroll in semester courses. Students may visit the New Student Orientation page to register and/or receive assistance with orientation registration.
Upon achieving a total of 30 academic credits, freshman pre-nursing majors will transition to the upper level advisors in preparation for nursing admission eligibility.
Transfer Students
All new BSU transfer pre-nursing students admitted to the university for the fall or spring semesters must register to participate in the BSU New Transfer Student Orientation program to enroll in semester courses. Students must first participate in the BSU New Transfer Student Orientation program. Students may visit the New Student Orientation page to register and/or receive assistance with orientation registration.
Transfer pre-nursing students (30 credits and above) are immediately assigned to the upper level academic advisors in preparation for nursing admission eligibility.
The Nursing Advisement Office
The Department of Nursing Academic Advisement Office is located in the Center for Natural Science, Mathematics & Nursing, Suite 2126.
Due to a high volume of program inquiries, we cannot accept walk-in appointments. Inquiries must first be sent via email and the advisor will respond within 48 hours to address any questions, concerns and appointment scheduling.
Transcript Evaluations
The BSU Department of Nursing does not provide unofficial transcript evaluations of academic credits. Transfer credit evaluations of general education courses are officially conducted through the BSU Office of Admissions. Prospective students must contact the BSU Office of Admissions and speak with an Admissions Counselor to address the articulation of all transfer courses.
