Our Logo: Usage & Downloads
Our logos are used as a method of identification and recognition for our university. Maintaining consistency in the appearance of our logo helps build a unified university brand.
Brand Elements
BSU Tagline
The university tagline, “Taking Tomorrow. Boldly.” expresses the dynamic energy that embodies the spirit of BSU and is the established theme for brand marketing efforts. It is also used on official university publications.
We Are Bowie Bold Graphic
The mantra “We Are Bowie Bold” and the Bold Block graphic allow contextual emphasis of the tagline. Use of the Bold Block graphics is not an alternative to the university logo and requires consultation with URM by submitting a request to the URM marketing project request form.
Butch and Goldie Mascot Images
Use of official illustrations of BSU’s Mascots, Butch and Goldie must be approved by URM through the URM marketing project request form. The mascots are not to be altered in any way.
Our Colors & Typography
Our official university colors help identify us at a glance and set the mood for printed and digital materials, bringing an energy and vibrancy to our communications. Consistent, thoughtful use of our brand typefaces visually supports our verbal communications.
Photography Guidelines
Bowie State University’s photography guidelines provide recommendations for photography of individuals, lifestyle, and classroom photos with examples of camera aware and photo journalistic photography that capture the joy, warmth, and authenticity of our students. The university does not use stock photography of students, except on rare occasions and only with permission from the office of University Relations & Marketing.
