Bowie State University offers certificate programs across multiple disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These programs enhance your skills and knowledge in specific fields, providing credentials that can boost career opportunities. View certificates at Bowie State.

Declaring a Certificate

For current undergraduate (degree-seeking or students earning a stand-alone upper division certificate) or current graduate degree-seeking students that want to declare a graduate certificate, please complete the Declaration/Change of Major form (pdf). Once completed, the form must be emailed to registrar@bowiestate.edu.

Graduate students wanting to earn a graduate certificate only and not currently enrolled in a graduate program must apply for the certificate through Graduate Admissions.

Certificate Completion

Degree-Seeking Students

In your final semester of program completion for your major and certificate and after you have applied for graduation, your record will be reviewed to ensure that you have satisfied all requirements. If all requirements have been satisfied, the credentials will be conferred and listed on your official transcript and the diploma and certificate will be ordered and mailed to you after the semester ends. Non-Degree Seeking students

Students earning a certificate only, in your final semester of program completion for your certificate, you will want to fill out the appropriate Certificate Completion form below and submit to registrar@bowiestate.edu.

Once all documentation is received, our office will review your record. If approved, the certificate will be conferred and listed on your official transcript and your certificate will be ordered and mailed to the address on file after the semester ends.  

Certificates must be declared while you are a current student. They cannot be retroactively added to your record when you are no longer a student.
