Jan. 28-30 Virtual Operations, Campus Remains Closed

Bowie State University will continue with virtual operations for all classes and office operations through Friday, January 30, 2026. The campus will be closed to all non-essential personnel, and all campus activities are canceled. All buildings except residence halls and the dining hall will be closed. Essential personnel should report on time. This is due to the extended time required to clear the extensive snow and ice accumulation on campus. University crews are making every effort to resume campus operations, as a safe return to in-person learning and work remains our top priority. Only essential personnel and residential students are permitted access to the campus through Jan. 30. For more information, please visit BowieState.edu/weather.

BOLD Moves

Danielle Lang

Hometown: Syracuse, NY
Major: Sport Management
Classification: Senior

Are you involved in any campus organizations?
I’m a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and I’m Miss Sport Management this year.

List three words that best describe you.
Courageous, kind and athletic. I’ve been on basketball, cheerleading, track and lacrosse teams.

What inspired you to choose the major you chose?
Because I’m a former athlete, I’ve developed a passion for sports-related fields.

What do you look forward to doing after you graduate?
I want to be hands-on with athletes and I’m looking into sports medicine. Right now I’m the assistant to the athletic trainer for football and basketball, so I’m already getting the experience.

What makes Bowie State special to you?
I visited this school twice on HBCU college tours and fell in love with the school because of the people and the campus. Bowie State has taught me to be more confident in myself. I’ve learned to step outside of my comfort zone.

What are some BOLD moves you’ve made on campus?
It’s my senior year and I’m trying to stay focused. Being part of student organizations, while balancing work and classes –that’s been a bold move for me. It’s a lot, but I know I can do it.
